How to prep for your Brazilian wax

Please make sure your hair is at least 1/4 of an inch, or the size of a grain of rice. Exfoliate your skin the night before to remove any dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. You can use a loofah with body wash, or a gentle body scrub. On the day of the wax, avoid any lotions or oils to the area and wear loose, comfortable clothing to minimize irritation after the wax. Please come in fresh and clean, ready for your service. You may take Advil 30 mins prior to the appointment to help ease any pain.

How long will my wax last

Your wax will last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on your hair cycles. Hair grows in 3 different cycles, and if you are just starting your wax journey, it can take a few months for your hair cycles to sync. The more consistent you are with waxing the slower the hair growth comes back & better results you get! (TIP, do not shave in between waxes, it disrupts the growth cycle and you will have to start all over).

Does waxing hurt

Waxing can be uncomfortable, not its not unbearable. Make sure to properly prep your skin (exfoliate & hydrate the night prior). Take Advil 30 mins prior to your appointment. Make sure to stay hydrated and avoid caffeine/ any dehydrating drinks the day of. A proper skin care regime makes all the difference in your service. Remember, your trusted esthetician has years of experience in giving you the best service possible! Its okay to be nervous during your first appointment, but you'll be in great hands!

Can I wax while on my period

Yes! Please come in freshly showered with a new tampon. You can be more sensitive during this time of the month, so make sure you prep your skin properly!

How often should I wax

Every 4 weeks. This schedule allows your hair cycles to sync up and you get the best results & longer lasting waxes.

Who should avoid waxing

Those with sensitive skin or a history of allergies or reactions to waxing products. People taking Accutane or Retin-A should avoid waxing as these medications can make the skin more sensitive. Individuals with skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or rosacea. If you have recently undergone a chemical peel, laser or other skin procedures. Pregnant women may want to consult their healthcare provider prior to getting waxed as hormones can make the skin more sensitive.

What causes ingrown hairs

Ingrowns can be caused from clogged hair follicles. Dead skin cells or other debris can block the hair follicles, causing the hair to grow sideways or back into the skin. Tight clothing can cause friction and pressure on the skin, which can lead to ingorwn hairs. Not exfoliating regularly can cause dead skin build up. You need to consistently exfoliate to avoid this. You can use en exfoliating scrub or mitt. I recommend using the Cleanlogic body scrubber off Amazon.

Best way to prevent ingrown hairs

Make sure you are consistent with waxing. Waxing is a light exfoliating and will actually help prevent ingrown hairs, just by coming to your service monthly. Exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week, starting one week after your wax. You need to be consistently clearing dead skin from the surface or the hairs will get trapped undezrneath and cause ingrowns. My two favorite products to prevent ingrowns are the Cleanlogic body scrubber brushes off Amazon and Skull oil. The body scrubber will slough off dead skin and the Skull oil will help keep ingrowns at bay, hydrate and nourish your skin. You NEED this dynamic duo to get you the best results possible.

What is a brow lamination

A brow lamination involves straightening and setting the brow hairs in place using a chemical solution. It aims to give the eyebrows a fuller, more defined and groomed look. During the treatment, the brow hairs are brushed and lifted into place. The result is a thicker, fluffier and more uniform look.

How long does a brow lamination last

Brow laminations typically last from 4-6 weeks. This low maintenance service is perfect for those who are busy and want to put less effort into their makeup routine on a daily basis.

How to prep for your brow lamination

Please arrive eyebrow makeup free and with clean brows. Exfoliate brows a night before the treatment. Avoid skin treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and spray tan on the face prior to appointment.

Post brow lamination care

Keep your brows dry for at LEAST 24 hours. Hydrate your brows after 48 hours (Skull oil- available online or in studio). Do you not apply makeup for at least 24 hours. No swimming, sauna or sweating for 24 hours. Avoid over touching the brows after treatment. Touching can add oils to the area (from fingers/hands) and can clog open pores. Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat; the use of tanning beds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for 48 hours. No sweating/ exercise for 24 hours. Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliate around the brow for 3 days before and after the treatment. No self tanning products should be used for 48 hours after the treatment.
